Most of the food Americans eat is produced by farmers and ranchers in the country’s heartland. However, many people don’t know how the food is actually made. “America’s Heartland” provides information about the people and processes responsible for the availability of food and fuel across the country and around the world. The show’s correspondents and producers tell stories about farm families, consumer issues, animal welfare, and crop sustainability. Some episodes also take the program overseas to countries like Egypt and Taiwan to show American agriculture’s influence on the global economy.
