Fall Surprises and Winter Prep โ€“ Antenna Services Update

Hey there, West Michigan friends!

Fall is here and winter is coming! (And no, weโ€™re not talking about a Game of Thrones rerun.) November’s chill has arrived, and as much as we love Michigan, the weather here is more unpredictable than a cat in a room full of laser pointers. So, I wanted to drop a quick note to keep you all in the loop regarding antenna service appointments and what to expect in the coming weeks.

Cold November Rain, Dry Roofs, and My Work Boots

First things first, safety is king (right up there with coffee and warm gloves). For outdoor antenna work, all I need is a dry roof and windchill temps above 35ยฐF. Anything below that, and Iโ€™m more likely to practice my ice-skating moves than secure your antenna! But fear not, I do work straight through the winter, rain, snow, or whatever else Michigan throws at usโ€”within reason, of course.

What to Expect if Rain is in the Forecast

  • The Afternoon Before Your Appointment:

If the weather forecast looks grim, I’ll give you a call the afternoon before your appointment to offer the option to reschedule. It’s your time, and sometimes taking a day off work isn’t worth the gamble if rescheduling guarantees better conditions.

  • The Morning of Your Appointment:

If the local forecast shows definite rain, or the radar over Lake Michigan looks ominous, we’ll need to reschedule for safety reasons. Nobody likes surprises, especially wet ones on a roof.

  • Bad Radar but Quick Clearing:

If itโ€™s raining but forecasted to end around our scheduled time, Iโ€™ll still head your way. As long as thereโ€™s enough time for the roof to dry safely, weโ€™ll proceed with any necessary rooftop work. If it’s still sprinkling when I arrive, I’ll start on any indoor work to keep things moving.

  • Other Important Notes:

Iโ€™ll always prioritize safety, your roof integrity, and service quality. While West Michigan weather keeps us on our toes, Iโ€™m here to ensure youโ€™re in the loop and taken care of no matter what surprises roll in from the lake!

Attic Installations (Not for Everyone) and Rain or Snow

Attic installations can be a great option if youโ€™re in or around Grand Rapids. Weather does not always matter for attic installations, well, for obvious reasons. Outside that zone? Letโ€™s just say itโ€™s not the best idea. Here’s why; attics donโ€™t always play nice with signals, and nobody wants me crawling around your roof space like a TV-loving raccoon for no good reason. So, when it comes to attic installs, weather may not always be a factor to be concerned about as long as I am able to do my prep work in your garage in those fierce and unrelentless weather events.

Groundwork and Indoor Repairs

If Mother Nature decides to throw one of her famous West Michigan winter tantrums, donโ€™t worry. Iโ€™m still available for groundwork and indoor repairsโ€”keeping your service humming, no matter how chilly it gets outside.

Mid-Fall Rush & Scheduling Tips

Winter officially kicks off on December 21, but Novemberโ€™s weather has a mind of its own (cold one day, sunny beach weather the next!). As a heads-up, Iโ€™m often booked out a few weeks in advance, so if your appointment gets bumped closer to winter, there is a chance of another shower, and yet another reschedule. And though it’s rare that I get cancellations, if I do, I can bump up appointments, especially if an indoor repair can fill rainy day.
