Customer Question of the Week

Q: “Why is my signal great during the day but choppy at night?”

A: Nighttime humidity, temperature changes, and light pollution can affect signal strength. But most of all, certain FCC non-compliant LED and fluorescent lighting can cause reception issues on certain channels. Especially channels 3, 8, 9, 10, 13, 35, and 52 in West Michigan. Try switching your lights off and check for improvement. Turn the lights back on one switch at a time. Once you find the culprit, simply be aware or consider replacing the LED bulb with a locally bought FCC compliant bulb. They say “This devices is FCC compliant,” right on the box! Please avoid buying bulbs online, especially Amazon.com. Online bulbs, even brand names, often skip the FCC process and flat-out lie about it on their labels.
